Repeaters and Beacons

VHF Repeater "700" is a Tait repeater consisting of the following hardware and controlled features:
- Receiver T355 on 146.400MHz with an 85MHz CTCSS tone.
- Transmitter T356 on 147.000MHz, 25 Watts.
- Duplexer Wacom WP-639.
- 2 stacked dipoles.
- Coax cable LMR-400.
- WVHFG 1802-design microprocessor controlled functions.
- Synthesised voice announcer.
- Mains powered with battery backup.
- Auto power reduces to 5 watts when mains fail.
Alarms:
- "Pippippip" every 15 seconds means that the repeater has a serious fault and that the transmitter has automatically switched to low power.
- "Minus power on" on the tail means that the main power has failed and the repeater is running on battery power. The transmitter has also been switched to low power.
- "Beep" on the tail means that the repeater has had a mains power on reset.


UHF Repeater "8425" is a Tait T-196 repeater consisting of the following hardware and controlled features:
- Receiver T-196 on 433.425MHz.
- Transmitter T-196 on 438.425MHz, 1 Watt.
- MRF660 6.5 Watt power amplifier.
- Duplexer Deltec MD-460 1.5dB insertion loss.
- Antenna Diamond X-50 6dBD Omni.
- Coax RG-213/LMR-400.
- Microprocessor controlled via DTMF "Touch Tone".
- Mains powered with battery backup.
- Trustee controlled mute, battery exerciser and shutdown.
- Public tail extender and signal strength indicator.
DTMF Tones for public use:
- *12# = Extended tail for tuning purposes.
- *1234# = Tone output indicates signal strength.
Low frequency tone is strong signal at repeater.
High frequency tone is a weak signal at repeater.
Alarm:
Two Tone alarm for mains fail and has a power fail lock out if no battery is fitted.
SHF Beacon 12cm:
- DownEast Microwave WSS2401, 5mW(+7dBm) transmitter.
- Antenna is a horizontal polarised dual quad of 11dBD gain and +/-3dB beamwidth of 70degrees.
- Coax cable is LMR-400.
- Digital Morse code FM Keyer is a ZL1QF design.
- ERP is approx. 30-40 milliwatts.
- Mains powered with no battery backup.
- No alarms or control.
